American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Irvine is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Irvine is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The best macarons I have ever had. The flavors are so incredible and unique, and the texture is even better. Perfectly soft, chewy, and light. Each flavor is superb and beautifully made. The place is decorated with tons of cute plushies. The staff are very friendly, sometimes offering free samples. Great place for a small dessert or gift box.

This review is a long time coming. I've been coming to Honey & Butter for many years and if you've lived in Orange County or SoCal, you've probably heard of them at some point. They create very unique flavors for their macarons that aren't done anywhere else. My most recent trip with my wife was for their Sailor Moon collab. The character macarons were so cute and also tasted delicious! They do a ton of collabs with different video game series and anime which are always fun. The seasonal macarons flavors have a lot of Asian inspiration and I've never seen them elsewhere. My personal favorites include the Pineapple Cake (really captures Taiwanese pineapple cake flavor) and Durian (it's so good and great as an entry into durian flavor). They rotate their seasonal offerings often, about every one or two weeks. But their mainstay flavors are also classics for a reason! All in all, if you are ever in the Irvine area and haven't had a chance to try this place out, definitely pop in and take a look. Their prices are very fair for the products and they've only barely increased their prices this year (by about $0.25). Plus, you get to support a lovely small business from Orange County!

This place has been a staple in the Spectrum for years and after years of going here I have to go out of my way to leave a review. First the macarons are impeccable, delicate, and on point with the flavors. The chefs are artists in more ways than one. I donโt think Iโve ever had a bad macaron from here in the years my wife and I have been coming here. Now, the staff are the sweetest people you will ever meet. They always have a smile on their face and make you feel warm and welcome. Why Iโm leaving this review and one thing you should know, if you like a flavor go follow their instagram and request it and they very well may abide! They did for us! I left a comment requesting millionaire shortbread for my wife for Motherโs Day and the happily obliged. We went in today to pick up a dozen for all the moms coming over but made sure to get extra millionaires because they are one of the best things I have ever eaten. Iโd inject it into my veins if I could. I can never recommend this place enough and if the reviews donโt speak for themselves just go try one! You wonโt regret it. Love you guys tons thanks for the amazing service and always brightening peoples day. ๐ซถ

I had to leave a review because these are one of the best macarons Iโve ever had. I got the pistachio, strawberry shortcake, milk and honey, and Creme brรปlรฉe. They were all so delicious and i love that theyโre thicker than the usual macaron, they have a great chewy texture to them. The place is also super cute and the staff is very friendly. Will be back for more!
